Ropeway across Mandovi is eyewash: BJP MLA

PTI, PANAJI | 11 June 2015 21:50 IST

Goa tourism department's proposal for a rope-way connecting Reis Magos village to Campal ward of Panaji, has met with strong opposition from ruling legislator Michael Lobo who termed it as a mere "eyewash".

"All these proposals about the rope way, sea planes and amphibious vehicles are merely an eye wash. Nothing is going to materialise here.

"Goa tourism is trying to compete internationally, while it should actually concentrate on its own strengths," Lobo told reporters, a day after tourism department approved the rope-way.

The BJP legislator said the tourism department should focus on improving basic infrastructure like roads and cleanliness on beaches, before trying their hand at such proposals.

Lobo said the state which had recently witnessed the gangrape of two Delhi-based women and needs to seriously undergo an image make over.

The priority is to make the state safe for tourists. We need to see that incidents like rape does not occur here, he added.

Two delhi-based women were raped by five men in Anjuna village by posing as anti narcotic cell policemen.

If any rope is left,it should be used to hang these BJP MLA`s.They are committing serious environmental crimes.

I wonder which BJP MLA will think of a Disney Land Theme Park for Goa,next.?

I am sure many BJP MLA`s will make good cartoon characters for this park.
