My Govt has not failed; but we'll introspect: Parsekar

Chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar vehemently denies that the debacle of the Bharatiya Janata Party is due to the failure of his government to deliver.
“There are factors responsible for losing quite a few seats, but my government is not responsible for it”, he claimed while talking to the media in the evening after all the results were declared.
Rather than winning more seats, the BJP lost eight seats in the Assembly segments represented by the party MLAs.
Parsekar himself lost one of the two seats in his Mandrem constituency while his equally senior colleague – Assembly Speaker Rajendra Arlekar – from neighbouring Pernem constituency also lost one seat.
In addition, four of his ministers lost one seat each – Alina Saldanha, Mahadev Gaonkar, Ramesh Tawadkar (all BJP) and Mickky Pacheco (Goa Vikas Party).
Three of his BJP MLAs also added to the debacle with one seat each – Pramod Sawant (Sankhli), Vishnu Wagh (St Andre) and Rajan Naik (Cuncolim).
“No doubt we need to learn from these results and identify our mistakes”, said Parsekar.
The saffron party now plans to analyse the result thoroughly and find out where they failed.
But the chief minister, who took over reins from Manohar Parrikar, has already decided that his government has not failed.
