Mridula Sinha appointed Goa Governor

Narendra Modi government has finally appointed BJP’s former Mahila Morcha president Mridula Sinha as Goa’s new governor.

A Rashtrapati Bhavan communiqué stated that President has appointed four Governors,  Kalyan Singh for Rajasthan, Vajubhai R. Vala for Karnataka,  Chennamani Vidhyasagar Rao for  Maharashtra and Mridula Sinha for Goa.

The appointments will be effective from the date they assume the office.

Born on 27 November 1942 in a Chhapra village of Muzaffarpur district in Bihar, Sinha is a famous writer of Hindi Literature. She has also been the Ex Chairperson of Central Board of Social Welfare.

A film based on the life of Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia was made using the biography of the book “Ek Thi Rani Aisi Bhi”, written by Sinha.

After attaining the post graduation degree in Psychology, she did her BEd and started her life as a college lecturer in Muzaffarpur. She left the job of principal from a school of Motihari and dedicated herself to Hindi literature. 

After getting married to Dr Ram Kripal Sinha, who was earlier a college lecturer and later became a cabinet minister in Bihar state government, Sinha also joined active politics.

She lives with her spouse and children in New Delhi.
