Prime Minister Narendra Modi has chosen Goa to be the first state for his public function outside the national capital, for official as well as party level activity, on 14 June.

Meanwhile, chief minister Manohar Parrikar today called on Modi at 7, Race Course Road.

“It was a courtesy call", said the officials.

As Modi was scheduled to visit INS Hansa at Vasco to inaugurate the Indian Navy's Shore Based Test Facility (SBTF), at the INS Hansa airbase, the ruling party in Goa has organised three more functions.

Officially, the PM would lay foundation stone for a third Mandovi bridge, which is part of the National Highway 17.

He is also expected to make several announcements as chief minister Parrikar has visited several central ministers along with state officials, pursuing several pending demands with the centre.

Besides this, Modi would also address a Karyakarta Sammelan at Dr Shama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at Taleigao.

Prior to this, he is also expected to meet selective citizens from different fields, if possible, said local party sources.
