Russians cautioned about Goa Biz without visa

Russian authorities have asked its fellow nationals not to be involved in business or employment engagements in Goa without a proper visa for it.
The Russian Information Centre in Goa, a non-commercial project aimed at assisting its tourists in Goa, today issued a set of instructions regarding safety, visa regulations, dress code, among other issues.
"Instructions will be available for Russian tourists in hotels and major tourist spots in Goa in Russian language," said Ekaterina Belyakova, managing partner of tour operator Tara, the initiator of Russian Information Centre in Goa.
The information centre has warned tourists against taking services of illegal companies and being associated or employed by any entity while coming to Goa on a tourist visa.
The tourists are being informed that only business or employment visa allows them to be employed in Goa, she said.
The centre, recognised by the Russian consulate in Mumbai, was inaugurated in Goa last month with its two branches in each district.
"It's been a month since Russian Information Centre in Goa started functioning. We clearly see that the reason why Russian-speaking tourists face troubles is the lack of information available on many issues and lack of awareness about Indian laws, rules and norms," Belyakova said.
