Delhi HC denies relief to Tejpal on bail plea, final order on 29 Nov

Delhi high court has refused immediate relief to Tehelka founder Tarun Tejpal in a case of raping his junior colleague while the final order on his bail plea would be delivered on 29 November.
DIG O P Mishra today evening told media persons that he has no more information in this regard.
As per the information gathered from Delhi, the court postponed the hearing from morning to afternoon while rumours were spread that Tejpal would be arrested today.
The court agreed to the request made by Tejpal’s lawyer to postpone the hearing in the afternoon since he was busy arguing another matter.
While denying rape charges, Tejpal had also accused that Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar, belonging to the BJP, is pressing for his arrest.
He had also claimed of being falsely implicated in the case at BJP’s initiative and that the BJP government in Goa had unleashed the wrath if its vengeance.
Tejpal’s lawyer also argued that this could be the case at the most of outraging modesty but definitely not a rape.
The Goa police however vehemently opposed the bail application, while denying the charges made by Tejpal.
Tejpal had requested the court to grant him transit bail till he approaches the relevant Goa court for anticipatory bail.
As the incident of sexual attack by Tejpal on his junior colleague had occurred in Goa on 7 and 8 November, the Goa police have filed the FIR against Tejpal.
The bail plea has to be thus heard in Goa court.
