Few ministers to get more portfolios by Oct
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 18 September 2013 22:44 IST

Ministers in the BJP-led coalition government will be allocated with additional portfolios before the wintere Assembly session begins on 9 October.
“You will see some ministers answering questions of the portfolios which they don’t hold today”, said chief minister Manohar Parrikar today.
He however declined to elaborate further on the issue.
Parrikar even did not disclose when the porfolios would be allocated as they need to prepare in advance.
“Where does a minister get fully prepared while facing the Assembly soon after the government formation”, asked Parrikar.
Parrikar was supposed to take a decision in this regard after assessing performance of all his ministers and preparing their report card.
During cabinet briefing, he confirmed today that he would allot some of the portfolios he has been handling for over a year now.
The portfolio allocation would however be an indication of which minister is performing, if the allocation is made on the basis of performance alone and not other factors.
The seven-day Assembly session would begin on 9 October, which is being planned till 17 October.
