May not reshuffle portfolios: Parrikar
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 17 July 2013 17:20 IST

Chief minister Manohar Parrikar today said he may not reshuffle the portfolios after he prepares report cards of the whole cabinet by month end.
The Nationalist Congress Party today reminded him of his announcement to conduct performance evaluation of all his ministers at the end of six months of his tenure.
Goa NCP president Nilkanth Halarnkar in fact alleges that Parrikar has been delaying the exercise since the performance of his ministers has been very poor and he will have to sack more than three fourths of them.
When asked about his exercise, Parrikar however said he has already completed discussions with five of his cabinet colleagues.
“I will discuss their performance also with my MLAs before arriving at any conclusion”, said Parrikar.
He also clarified that he has not arrived at a decision to reshuffle the portfolios and he may not do it if performance of the ministers is satisfactory.
Regarding the issue of allotting additional portfolios to the ministers, he said even this decision would be taken after the report cards are ready.
“I am not at all overburdened with too many portfolios and cannot give important portfolios like mining or town and country planning”, the CM quipped when asked whether he feels overburdened.

sir, one mistake in this news item, the statement mentioned above in the name of NCP chief Mr. nilkanth Halarnkar is false to the extent that, 1) statement not made by him but by Trojon D"mello. 2) the later part of statement is not at all pronounced by either of them. ( ........and he will have to sack more than three fourths of them.)this is later part. pl do the needful.
