DyCM blames Edu Dept for Std XI admission chaos

Deputy Chief minister Francis D’Souza has blamed the education department for creating imbroglio over admissions of Std XI as well as the Chowgule higher secondary school controversy.

D’Souza was in Margao today morning to launch the admissions of Chowgule higher secondary school, which the government has decided to take over.

Speaking to media persons after the function, D’Souza admitted that the education department did very little in spite of knowing that more number of students has appeared for SSC examinations last year.

Almost 5000 more students appeared for SSC examination last year while the number of passed out students also increased by almost 6000.

The SSC result this year was 85 per cent, compared to 73 per cent last year.

Though 2011 had much higher result of 86 per cent, the actual number of passed out students was around 13,000.

Comparatively, nearly 17,000 students passed out this year, because the students appearing for the examination were more than ever – over 20,000.

“The education department should have acted much in advance when they knew this situation”, said D’Souza.

The deputy chief minister said the education department has also failed in the case of Chowgule higher secondary school when it was known that the school is functioning even without a principal for so many years.

He also wondered why the education department had not done any alternate arrangement in last three years when it knew that Chowgules plans to close down its higher secondary section.

Former Fatorda MLA Damu Naik in fact said the BJP would demand an inquiry in the negligent role of education department officials in the Chowgule higher secondary issue.

When media persons pointed out that the Chowgule complex has no separate infrastructure for higher secondary section which the government could take over, D’Souza assured that the government would make alternate arrangement if such a situation arises.

When asked under which provisions the government is taking over Chowgule management of higher secondary, Naik replied: “if there are legal hurdles, we will change the law but take over.”

If one cannot read in-between lines in news reading, then I should say he or she has not read actual truth!

Reluctant Chowgule College has started online admission for standard XI from today. Has anyone written thanking lines to Manohar Parrikar for this? At least I’ve not read so!

Contrary to this, I could read “n” number of lines, written by Congress supporters, against Manohar Parrikar! Despite not keeping to words, such mad rush in writing against chief minister was never witnessed during congress rule! Why? Could anyone explain this?

The Red Flag was already raised by Vijay Sardessai during last election session. After than what BJP government was doing. Blaming Eduction Dept is same as blaming the Education Minister Parrikar.
