Damu Naik at a press conference
Chowgule institution cannot take a shield of the court to deny admission to students in Std XI, feels former Fatorda MLA Damu Naik.
Vijay Sardesai, the existing Fatorda MLA, on the other hand demanded that the government should take over higher secondary school of Chowgules.
The issue of Chowgule higher secondary school has started heating up again as the premiere institution of Margao has not yet started admission process.
The principal today told students and parents who came for admission that it would start admitting students only after the high court hearing scheduled on 17 June.
“The high court has not stayed the admission, so that argument of the matter being sub-judice does not arise”, argues BJP leader Naik.
He also claimed at a press conference that chief minister Manohar Parrikar to take strong action against Chowgule management for not admitting Std XI students.
“If they cannot run it, my institution is prepared to take over the higher secondary school”, said Naik.
His arch rival Sardesai, at a separate press conference, however felt that Parrikar should fulfil the assurance given in the Assembly and take over the management of higher secondary school by the government.
