Ladies, now travel in Exclusive Kadamba

Goa will now have Ladies Special buses, to begin with, from Mapusa to Panaji.
“We have decided to start two Ladies Special buses on Panaji to Mapusa route, in the morning, afternoon and evening”, transport minister Sudin Dhawalikar told the Assembly today evening.
This is a just a beginning. If it succeeds, then the transport department may implement it everywhere.
He has also assured to conduct a survey to asses which routes would need such buses the most.
“We will also try for a lady driver and conductor”, said Dhawalikar.
Besides Ladies Special, the government has also identified 14 routes in the Western Ghat regions to start regular Kadamba buses.
As the Kadamba Transport Corporation is procuring 100 new buses, Dhawalikar said the first priority would go to the Western Ghat regions, where people need it the most.
“Then we will increase the number of buses on shuttle routes in Vasco, Margao and even Ponda”, he said.
He has also mooted a proposal to take over all the private buses on rental basis, provided all the buses have one colour.
“We will paint it and give it to them to run”, he said.
He informed that the private bus owners have finally come forward, accepting this long-pending proposal.
He also reiterated that the government would shortly introduce digital meters, to begin with tourist taxis and then extend it also for rickshaws.

I pray to the good Lord that it happens specially on the Margao /Mobor route . The authorities should sometimes travel by these routes and see for themselves how the young girls and ladies have to commute to and fro to their schools.colleges and work place and are at the mercy of the disgusting conductors and drivers.....................................
