Goa to have Vedant Inst to teach Ved-Upanaishad

Goa will shortly have a Vedant Institute to teach Vedas and Upanishadik text.
Goa government has agreed to allot land for the project to Padmashree Vamanrao Sardesai Charitable Trust.
A resolution to this effect was today moved by St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh in the House.
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar immediately agreed to give land for the project.
“The Trust only wants land, the rest of the things would be taken care of”, Wagh told the House.
He said the Institute would be based on Theology and Indology, also teaching moral and spiritual values based on Vedas and Upanishadas.
He also reminded the chief minister that the proposal was earlier mooted by the BJP veteran late G Y Bhandare, but had not materialize.
Parrikar said he would immediately locate and release the land, after the Trust officially approaches him with a request.
