The 28-day state Legislative Assembly session beginning from March 18 is expected to be the longest, with the earlier session record being for 25 days.
The current session would be of 28 days, which will be the longest ever for the state Legislative Assembly.
"The earlier record was of a 25-day-long session in 2002," state Legislature Secretary N B Subhedar said.
Incidentally, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar held the post that time also.
The session will have nearly 3,000 questions being tabled by the members. The Legislature department has already received 1,000 questions, Subhedar said.
The last date for submitting the questions is April 10, he said.
The recently held meeting of the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) has approved March 18, the opening day of the session, for presentation of the state budget by Parrikar.
Reacting to the lengthy Assembly session, Goa's longest serving former Leader of Opposition Ramakant Khalap said the prolonged session leaves the House with no content.
"The session may be long but we have to see whether there is content enough to sustain the days," said Khalap, who was the Leader of Opposition for almost two decades.
