Goan artists to have special corner at IFFI

The International Film Festival of India (IFFI) this year will have a special corner for the Goan artists.
Vishnu Surya Wagh, vice chairman of Entertainment Society of Goa, said at a press conference here that a special corner named 'Goan Art Wall' would be created at the IFFI venue in Panaji.
Paintings, photographs and other visual art works of Goan artists would be up for sale at the Art Wall. "This will be an opportunity for artists to display their talent before the movie intelligentsia," Wagh said.
ESG, a nodal agency representing Goa government at IFFI, would help the artists sell their work. "This is being done for the first time in the festival," Wagh added.
The festival would take place from November 20 to 30. "The response is enormous. We have registered more than 10,000 delegates and the number will exceed 12,000," Wagh said. Last year, 8,000 delegates had registered for the festival.
ESG would be hosting peripheral cultural programmes at ten places during the festival. "We wanted to organise these programmes in a big way, but due to economic slowdown in certain parts of the state because of mining stoppage, we have to organise it low-scale," Wagh said.
