Govt offers assistance to Old Age Homes

Goa government has invited the NGOs to apply for financial assistance to the homes run for senior citizens.
The Sanjeevani scheme of the social welfare department provides recurring as well as non-recurring assistance under this scheme.
Sanjeevani provides Rs 4.93 lakh towards recurring and Rs one lakh as non-recurring expenditure annually.
The scheme is meant for providing boarding facilities and basic amenities to senior citizens.
The Directorte of Social Welfare Deparment has appealed to the voluntary organisations or NGOs running such homes to apply for the scheme.
