Pendse Com says Fadke shouldn't be in GCA

Justice M L Pendse Commission, which probed the bogus ticket scam during the India-Australia ODI in 2001 had recommended that Vinod Fadke, currently the President of Goa Cricket Association (GCA), should not be part of management of the association.

This was informed to the State Assembly today.

The GCA was in the midst of controversy after Pendse panel observed that the management committee of the association itself was involved in printing the bogus tickets.

Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar told the State Legislative Assembly that the report has been accepted by the government and it has decided to process the same for further necessary action.

The findings of the report which was tabled on the floor of the House, during the ongoing session indicate that the commission had recommended that Fadke (who was then the Vice President) should not participate in the management of the association.

Pendse Commission had recommended that the Sports Authority of Goa (SAG) may reconsider withdrawing the recognition of GCA unless and until Fadke along with then GCA President Dayanand Narvekar and another member, do not participate in the management of the association.

In the recent developments, Narvekar was thrown out of the association and has been indicted in the state government's inquiry committee.

But Fadke has managed to get elected as GCA President.

The ODI between India-Australia had witnessed unruly scenes outside the stadium when several thousand people holding bogus tickets turned up for the match.

The Pendse Commission which was formed to probe into the illegalities by GCA has also recommended that SAG should withdraw recognition unless GCA pays the entire dues in respect of hiring of Nehru Stadium at Fatorda for ODI matches held on December 28, 1997 and April 6, 2001.

Phadke had been Narvekar's man-Friday for so long. And there is no doubt that he also has been benefited from all the illegal money raking activities of Narvekar. Suddenly he became a saint overnight. But I think his sins are now catching up with him. He should be dumped.

now fadke will know meaning of the word bamonbuddi. 1st defeat narvekar with help of fadke. Then pendse shows red card to fadke. So with heavy heart since there is no alternative unwillingly salkar becomes gca chairman. Hmmmm.........no one to blame. Bravo parrikar. Well done. These mundkars were thinking they are too smart. Lets put all of them in their right place.
