Police nab Delhi thieves in a filmy style chase

Five persons, including a woman, hailing from Delhi, involved in robberies, were arrested here after chasing them in a filmy style.

According to Panaji police inspector Rajendra Prabhudesai said that all the accused were arrested after the policemen chased them.

Three policemen, who chased them last night, were injured in the incident.

The cash and belongings burgled from the flats in the city were recovered from the gang, he said.

The arrested were identified as Sanjukumar Sheetal (25), Rameshkumar Roshan (42), Tarun Singh (26), Ramesh Bashaki Ram (31) and Geeta Sharma (21), all of whom are from Delhi.

Prabhudesai said that all five were intercepted at Taleigao village on the outskirt of Panaji, but managed to flee by abandoning their car and police had to chase them in the nearby forest area.

"Local people also helped police in the combing operation," the inspector said. Police expect to solve more cases during their interrogation.
