Parrikar now refuses to accept new DIG

The Goa government has put it foot down on posting of IPS officers who are deputed to the state by the Union Home Ministry without prior consultations.
In a recent development, IPS Officer I B Rani, who was supposed to take over as officiating Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in Goa police, was not given posting by State Home minister Manohar Parrikar, also the chief minister.
Rani, who was transferred to Goa from Delhi, has since then proceeded on leave.
The IPS officer had reported to the Goa government last week, but since then has left without any assignment.
Sources in the state home ministry said that Parrikar has raised objection to the transfer.
Parrikar is in a long drawn battle with the union home ministry for transfer and deputation of IAS and IPS officers without taking the state into confidence.
The issue sprung up after DIG Ravindra Yadav, was transferred to Delhi, soon after the State Legislative assembly election in March.
Parrikar had refused to relieve Yadav. Yadav had to go to Delhi after the Union Home Ministry issued strict orders to him to report to the national capital.

Why should they treat Goa as their colony? Why should any self respecting Government accept that? They take away thousands of crores from the Sate in one or other form and again treat the State as their colony...Shame on them...Hats off to the CM for showing self esteem and self respect to all who had been accustomed to fall on the feet of the High Command and lick their boots for every silly thing...
