Shree Nirakar Education Society of Mashem, Canacona has launched a nostalgic and dynamic website, a first of its kind in Goa.
The website is interactive, user-friendly and provides an opportunity to all the past students since 1962 to meet and interact with each other.
The website www.nirakar.org was launched at the hands of Subhash Faldesai, Chairman of the Infotech Corporation of Goa and Sanguem MLA, at a function held at S S Angle Higher Secondary School yesterday.
Faldesai, after launching the website, said this is not just a mere website but a creative effort to bring together all the Nirkarians through infotech revolution, which all the institutes in Goa need to follow.
Nirakar has set an example for Goa, he said while adding that Canacona taluka has once again proved that it is on the forefront in the educational field, now also in adapting to e-world.
The website profiles all its three institutions – Shree Nirakar High School and S S Angle Higher Secondary in Mashem and Tudal High School in Gaodongarim, besides the Nirakar Education Society.
The most unique feature of the website is the SSC and HSSC batch photos of all the past students since 1962. They can not only watch their photos but can update all the information about themselves as well as their family members including their latest photos, email ids, phone numbers and even Facebook and Twitter ids.
The website provides similar kind of information regarding the managing committee members, PTA members as well as teaching and non-teaching staff members, facilitating the parents and students to interact with them without hesitation.
“It is just not a normal website providing necessary information but a platform for the teachers, students and even past students to come together and interact while thickening their bond further”, said Prashant Naik, President of Nirakar Education Society.
The website would thus provide an opportunity to meet their old friends and classmates by making friends on Facebook or Twitter or also by sending email instantly.
The attempt will bring together the whole Nirakar Parivar, which is spread all over the world, said Bhushan Prabhugaonkar, the Loliem-Pollem Sarpanch, who was the guest of honour.
The Nirakar website has also been made most dynamic by keeping its home page changing frequently with latest information about the activities and events happening in all the three institutes, through photo albums and news reports.
The website has also been provided as a platform for the teachers as well as management officials to express their views on varied topics through their individual blogs.
The surfers could also participate in it by expressing their opinions, though an online debate on any current issue.
In addition, the Nirakar website also provides regular information like Notices, courses provided, infrastructural facilities like hostel, admission rules and other regulations as well as information about academics and co-curricular activities.
Sandesh Prabhudesdai on the occasion explained all the features of the website while Urvee Phaldesai, Tony Martin and Devendra Tawadkar narrated their experiences of building this website.
Anant Agni compered while Tony Martin proposed a vote of thanks.
The website is developed by Team Inertia, Goa’s leading web designers.
