The Goa Cricket Association has postponed its scheduled election while vice president Vinod Fadke has taken over as the new president, replacing Dayanand Narvekar.
The managing committee today ratified the decision, taken on 10 May by circulating a resolution, that Narvekar shall be excluded as a primary member of the GCA.
The committee had yesterday taken charge of the office, after having verbal confrontation with Narvekar, who had refused them entry into the GCA premises.
Members of the managing committee, headed by Fadke, had then entered from the backdoor while summoning police to the GCA office.
Realising the mood of the members, Narvekar had then walked out, though he claimed that he continues to be the president.
The managing committee members had then met chief minister Manohar Parrikar, assuring him to co-operate into the inquiry that has been instituted by the government to probe into financial irregularities.
Today’s meeting was attended by 11 managing committee members and three co-opted members, including Kishori Haldankar, who was on the side of Narvekar till yesterday.
Besides Narvekar, three members – Shrikant Tari, Daya Pagi and Prakash Fadte – did not attend today’s meeting.
The committee has also decided to provide all the required papers to the inquiry committee.
Decision on the new election date would be now decided later.
The election procedure was supposed to start from today, for the election earlier scheduled on 27 May.
According to the managing committee members, Narvekar ceases to be the president since he is no more even the primary member of the GCA.
The committee has recommended to the general body to take a final decision on expulsion of Narvekar as the primary member.

Most of these folks were 'chamchaas' of Narvekar for so long. Now sensing troubles they have decided to switch sides. These guys also should be thoroughly investigated together with Narvekar. Role of Fadke, who is now the chairman, in the infamous ticketgate scandal is well known. He doesn't deserve to be the chairman, even if it is acting. The GCA needs to be cleaned out and sanitized. For long it was a toy in the hands of Narvekar who nicely abused it and have raked in millons of Rs though it.
