2-member Com to probe into GCA affairs

Goa government has constituted a two-member committee to probe the alleged misappropriation of funds and irregularities committed by the Goa Cricket Association (GCA).

The State Registration Department has set up a committee of former GCA secretary Chetan Desai and retired bureaucrat Anil Lavandis to probe the allegations and it would submit a report within 15 days.

GCA's affairs came under the scanner after two local clubs affiliated to it lodged a complaint.

Dayanand Narvekar, former vice president of BCCI, heads the GCA. The former state minister has been of late in the news for wrong reasons.

Before the recent Assembly polls, he was accused of using the GCA to lure voters.

The state government has also asked the GCA not to take any major decisions till the investigation is over.

this is great news. It's high time Narvekar, who has been promoting his son like he is the best cricketer Goa has ever produced, is hit for the six. After the rout in Aldona, he has no right to remain in public field. Hope his ouster from Goa also stops his son ganeshraj from getting representation in under-15, under-17, under-19, under-21, under-25, Ranji teams! what going on Mr Narvekar. Your son, a mediocore cricketer, can represent so many teams in one season while some talented cricketers rot.
