Revolts continued in the Congress for the second consecutive day. Dinar Tarcar, Pravin Zantye and Shambhu Bhau Bandekar quit the Congress today.

Tarcar, who had crossed swords with BJP leader Manohar Parrikar in Panaji in last election, quit Congress to join the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and contest from St Cruz.

The BJP-MGP alliance has decided to reshuffle the constituencies of St Cruz and Tivim among themselves, to accommodate Tarcar.

Pravin Zantye, who had contested as Congress candidate, quit the party to contest independent since Mayem has been allotted to the NCP.

“I will definitely get elected, but will never support parties like Congress”, angry Zantye declared.

In his support, Congress vice president and senior Congressman Shambhu Bhau Bandekar also quit the party today.

“I am really upset with over 10 seats being allotted among five families. It would prove fatal to the party”, he predicted.

According to Bandekar, the Congress would now be defeated all over Goa by the dejected Congress workers themselves.

On the other hand, South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha's son Shalom is also preparing to revolt and contest independent in Curtorim, in protest of giving ticket to sitting MLA Alex Reginaldo Lawrenco.

Meanwhile, the Congress high command toay appointed Francisco Sardinha as the working president of the party, since state party president Subhash Shirodkar is contesting election from Shiroda.
