Goa to have 65-hr longest party

Goa is getting ready for the longest ever party on the new year eve which will be recorded in Guiness Book of World Record.

Spread over 65 hours, 34 dancers will dance in this event labelled as world's longest party.

Radisson White Sands Resort , a five starred hotel, situated on South Goa's coast have taken up the responsibility of holding this longest party. While the party will start on December 28 it will culminate on January 1, 2005.

``Till now United Kingdom has record under its belt of dancing for 52 hours and 4 minutes,'' stated Radisson's general manager Jaideep Singh.

The hotel will break all the records if 75 per cent of their total dancers manage to dance till 65 hours. And if all goes well, the record would be broke on 31st night.

While Goa is hoping to get its name registered in the Guiness book, the dancers participating in it are pulled from across the nation. Besides 6 dancers from Goa, the young blood between 18 to 26 years of age from Bangalore, Belgaum, Kolhapur, Mumbai and Pune would rock the floor.

``They were selected after thorough screening,'' stated Mr Singh.

To ensure the stamina and fitness for dancing, the hotel has started giving these dancers special nourishment. ``We are giving food for endurance and energy for the participants,'' stated hotel's executive chef Vinit Manocha.

Hotel officials are not sure whether representatives of Guiness book of world record would be present for the event. ``They may have their shadow presence,'' stated Mr Singh.

Hotel's Gravity Pool, a club, is getting ready for the event. ``We will modify the dancing floor to enable dancers dance freely,'' said Mr Singh.

Apollo hospital has got associated itself with the event by providing all the medical facilities. In case of any casualty, an ambulance will remain stand by to carry the patients.

As Goa will be flooded with who's who of India during new year celebration, the hotel has stoled the opportunity to invite few of them. Though the hotel management has not released of guests, around 5000 guests are expected to visit the dance.
