Goa hosting Asian Rugby

The Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) would host the 4th leg of the international HSBC Asian Rugby Sevens Series in alliance with HSBC and Asian Rugby Football Union (ARFU) here on November 19 and 20.

Top Asian teams, namely, China, Singapore, Iran, Hong Kong, Kazakistan, UAE and India will battle for the honours in the tournament.

Pramod Khanna, President of Indian Rugby Football Union (IRFU) said, "Rugby is second most popular game in the world and is among the fastest growing sports in India."

The Series has come to India at the right time. We want to provide Indian Rugby lovers an opportunity to witness world class matches first hand, he said.

The plan is to bring more such international matches to other parts of India as well, Khanna added.
