Event management for IFFI once again

Restoring earlier practise, an event management company would be roped in to handle the inaugural and concluding ceremonies of the ensuing International Film Festival of India.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting between Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat and I&B Ministry Ambika Soni.
"As far as possible the expenditure will be borne by the Ministry or the sponsors," Kamat said.
It was only last year that Information and Broadcasting Ministry shouldered the responsibility of the two events.Earlier, an event management company used to look after both the ceremonies.
Kamat, who heads Entertainment Society of Goa, a nodal agency to host IFFI, said these ceremonies need to be hyped more.
The festival is held in Goa between November and December.
The I&B Ministry said a panel comprising Secretary Information, Joint Secretary (Films), Director of Directorate of film festival and Chief executive officer of ESG would be set up.
The Ministry also lauded the role of ESG in setting up short film centre (SFC) during IFFI.
Ruling out that two agencies - DFF and ESG, were heading in different directions, Kamat said organizers have decided to explore various means for proper integration of short film centre with IFFI.
