Politicians not getting haftas are shouting: Ravi on drug nexus
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 05 August 2010 23:40 IST

Home minister Ravi Naik has made a serious allegation against the opposition, stating that they are making allegation that he and his son are involved in drug trade, because these opposition members are not getting hafta from the drug traders.
Ravi entered the Assembly hall yesterday at the fag end of the 15-day long monsoon session, as he was hospitalised in Mumbai. Later, he spoke to the media. The BJP had stalled the State Legislative Assembly five times during the monsoon session demanding that probe in the case be handed over to the CBI.
Allegations about the involvement of Ravi and his son Roy in the drug trade have been made by drug dealer Atala's girl friend Lucky Farmhouse as well as Fiona Mackeown, mother of Scarlet Keelling, who was found killed on the beach after consuming drugs two years ago.
Chief Minister Digamber Kamat, who was fending for Ravi in his absence, had refused to budge from his stand claiming that police were investigating in a professional manner.
"We have clamped down all the drug parties. There are raids on drug peddlers. Such a massive action was never taken in the past. Few political leaders are disturbed by my crusade against the trade," Ravi alleged.
When journalists repeatedly asked about his stand on CBI inquiry, Ravi kept on saying: "I will give my statement in this regard in the Assembly tomorrow." He avoided replying to the question of CBI inquiry.
"There is a proper system that needs to be followed. There are various police officers who are monitoring the investigation," said Ravi.

IF this SOB has guts then he should name names of the people accepting Hafta, etc. Other wise go at the middle of Madovi bridge along with his son and vanish in the holy waters of Mandovi, forever.

I do not think Ravi knows what he is saying.Seems like he has a short memory or none at all. It is a shame to think these are people that govern Goa. It seems like he has shot himself in the foot. He is trying to distract the focus from him and his son to other politicians. By doing so he has gambled that he will be left alone to continue with his money making scams and cheating his voters

When half gods go the gods come!
politicians need money to service their constituents (voters or otherwise) Its an open secret that
1) youths go to them for donations.
2) We need their money to build religious structures.
3) We need their money to build educational institutions.
4) we ask money when we are sick.
5) we ask money for further education.
6) we ask money when some one is dead.
7)
8)
9)
rest you draw your own conclusion

It is pathetic to see how the thieves stick together along the party lines to defend criminal actions of their leaders who shamelessly indulge in making money even at the cost of ruining the future generation!
