CM to review Cyber Age rather than scrapping

Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has assured to review the Cyber Age scheme of computers for students, rather than scrapping it.

In his recent budget, Kamat had announced that a Computer Laboratory in schools would replace the Cyber Age scheme.

The government has made a provision of Rs 15 crore for the scheme. It would provide additional 10 computers, two printers, UPS, web camera and internet connectivity.

Under the Cyber Age scheme, the government was providing computers to all the students once they passed standard XI.

Soon after he presented the budget, panellists on Prudent, a local TV channel, confronted Kamat during a live debate.

It was pointed out to him that Cyber Age was reaching a computer to each household, creating an e-environment in every household. The computer lab, however, keeps limited number of computers only in the school premises.

Some of the panellists felt that the Cyber Age scheme could exclude creamy layer from it and checks and balances could be brought to supply good quality computers, rather than scrapping the scheme.

The chief minister instantly agreed to the suggestion, assuring that he would review the Cyber Age scheme, rather than totally scrapping it.

Later, at another TV programme called ‘Head On' on Prudent, the chief minister repeated the assurance to review the Cyber Age scheme, rather than scrapping it toally.

Opposition leader Manohar Parrikar, in a debate on Prudent later in the evening, felt that even creamy layer should not be excluded from the scheme.

According to home, most of the creamy layer people give a false certificate of less income and avail the scheme. The government however unnecessarily wastes its energy over the whole exercise.

Its a great news for all the people in goa. As the world is moving ahead we too need to keep up with others. People in goa are outdated they don't know the needs of the earth they are confined in their own constricted thoughts.

It is surprising to believe that the issue of Mr.

there is something hidden loophole in political file.Even CID investigation officer called Mr. Atmaram Despande are so keen
