Deputy Inspector General of Police Ravindra Yadav said police inspector Ashish Shirodkar and constable Saish Pokle were booked under section 120 B and 7, 11 and 12 of prevention of corruption act by crime branch.

Both the policemen were placed under suspension last week after an alleged drug peddler confessed on spy camera about his association with police working in the anti narcotic cell.

Crime branch has also arrested alleged drug dealer, Yaniv Benaim alias Atala, an Israeli national for abettment of corruption charges.

"We are not going to spare anyone even if they are our own officers involved in the conspiracy," DIG said.

He said that we are going to persue this case very seriously.

An alleged israeli drug dealer in his confession on hidden camera had contended that shirodkar was selling him drugs stolen from anc custody.

The tape showed by local channel also showed alleged drug dealer talking to saish pokle on his mobile.

This is a real shameful and deplorable act by the Police Personnel. How far can people in India go to make money? Incredible! It is so disgusting to even read the article about this incident. What makes it difficult is that when paid good salaries now that sixth pay commission has been implemented, how can these guys go to make illegal money? In spite of being paid a legal high salary now, what other salary do these fellows need?

One can’t blame these guys, one should blame the Government for creating such a situation. These guys have paid in lakhs to get this job and have to find ways to recover that money. Anybody who wants to join the Constabulary in Goa has to pay Rupees one lakh fifty thousand (1, 50, 000/-) now. Two or three years back it was Rs 70,000/- (Seventy thousand).

I remember there were times youth were urged to join the Goa Police Force but now……Unimaginable. I know everything that goes on in the Police department because I myself am an ex-Cop. I resigned and left the department because I could not bear to see all these type of things going on and police personnel quietly accepting money.

There are lot of things if I write here the whole news online will not be sufficient to complete all the so called good deeds of my ex-department and 90% unscrupulous police personnel. To expose will be easy, but there will be no one to punish them. Forget it, the Politicians do all these things first. If I am not mistaken, there has to be a hand of some politician for Ashish to do such a thing _ Menino (Valpoi)
