Dissidence within BJP will make Cong win: John

PTI, PANAJI | 10 April 2014 21:53 IST

Congress in Goa today claimed that voters who have suffered in 'silence' under the BJP rule in the state will bring them victory in the two Lok Sabha seats, which go to polls on April 12.

"We are winning both seats hands down. There is a huge sympathy wave for the party and also an anti-incumbency against the (BJP) government," Goa Congress chief John Fernandes told PTI as the poll campaign comes to an end.

He said there are a large chunk of "silent" voters who are fed up with the two-year-old Manohar Parrikar-led BJP government in the state and want to vote against the party.

"These are the same voters which had voted against Congress in the 2012 state Assembly elections," he said.

Also, within BJP, Fernandes said, there is strong dissidence which will in turn favour Congress.

Congress has fielded Ravi Naik in North and Aleixo Lourenco Reginaldo in South Goa, while NCP has extended its support for both the candidates.

communalism aand secularism errupts during elections only, and congress is the foirst to raise ssuch issues to divide votes of minority communities.goa is a secular state and will remain so whichever govt.that may come in power, there is no communalism in goa or else all goans will be called as communal as we elected bjp govt in goa,if bjp is communal then we too are communal.muslims, christians and hindus living together as brothers and sisters ,and its the politicians who take advantage by deragotary speeches thus confusing voters.

congress remembers only 2002 gujrat riots to appease muslims, what about 1984 sikh riots headed by indira gandhi, aand not to forget sanvordem riots when cong ruling the state headed by sr.Rane.i appeal to the people of goa to vote according to there consience aand not to be fooled by politicians,we the people of goa are secular and all the candidates and parties are secular,so vote judicially.
