Remo returns to music, but reposes faith in AAP

PTI, PANAJI | 22 March 2014 11:16 IST

Famous musician Remo Fernandes who had joined the Aam Admi Party (AAP) in Goa announced here today that he is distancing himself from politics to return full time to music, though he has reposed his faith in AAP founder Arvind Kejriwal.

"Some of you are asking 'Where is Remo now that elections are round the corner?' And rightly so. But may I remind you that right from the start, I categorically stated I wasn't going to contest elections or aim at becoming a minister or an MP," Remo said in his Facebook post.

Along with social activist Oscar Rebello, the musician had joined AAP, soon after the party won the Delhi elections.

"However, even as a normal party worker, I gave 100 per cent of my time and mind space when I did get involved, because that is my nature. I cannot do things in half measures. I even gave away my premises in a prime location in Central Panjim rent-free as AAP offices, and I still do," the musician said.

"But the mind space required in politics is full of well, politics -- which is enough to kill the music in me forever. I must not strangle it (music) by entering politics. I have therefore returned full time to the first and greatest love of my life," he said.

However, the musician has reposed his faith in the philosophies, principles and actions of AAP founder Arvind Kejriwal.

"I believe he and his manifesto are the only ones aimed at stamping out corruption (the root cause of all of India's problems), and empowering the people of India," he said, referring to the former Delhi chief minister.

"I shall continue, as always, to use my music and my art to fight for what I believe is right," he said. is now on Telegram & also Youtube. Kindly subscribe for free & remain updated.

@Xavier. We have tried Congress & BJP, why not give one chance for AAP in Centre. Arvind intentions are good. He make mistakes, but he is honest.

@Jose. Rightly said, but then even with Jan Lokpal Bill we have the same risk of being made to run from pillar to post. Things can change only when we have proper system/mechnism in place and we as citizens are aware of our rights. What we are more interested in is to know the economic, foreign policies etc.. of AAP. We cannot risk having same situation as in Delhi (AAP).

@Xavier. It is not possible to refuse the bribe. If you refuse the bribe, your work will never happened. They will bring unnecessary objections and you have to run from pillar to post. Only they fear AAP due to its Jan Lokpal Bill (Included Citizen’s Charter Act).

I Am With AAP Because Of Swaraj Act. This Act Will Empower Goans To Take Decision For Their Village. There Are Many Pending Work To Be Done In Each Village. Congress & BJP Are Not Interested. Same Old Roads Are Seen, Same Old Lights Are Seen, Same Dirt Are Seen, Same Red Sand Roads Are Seen With Grass On The Road And Many Things Are Pending Since 50 Years. Let Us Vote AAP And Bring Swaraj Act.

A lot of us wish that AAP would come out with their econnmic as well as foreign polices now that they are contesting the Lok Sabah Elections. AAP decission on FDI in Retail in Delhi left us baffled. Corruption is not the only issue that's facing India. Moreover corruption will not come to an end unless we as citizens refuse to pay bribes.

I Am With AAP Because Of Jan Lokpal Bill (Included Citizen’s Charter Act). This Act Will Make Corrupt Government Officers To Work In Honesty And Deliver Within Time Limit. Corrupt Government Officers Are Enjoying Their Life On Our Tax Money. They Have No Feelings For The Aam Aadmi. Just For One Signature, Aam Aadmi Has To Go To Their Office Again & Again. Lots Of Time And Money Is Wasted To Get Simple Work Done. Corrupt Government Officers Don’t Fear Congress & BJP. They Only Fear AAP.

Remo Fernandes Should Contest The Goa Election And Become The CM of GOA Aam Aadmi Party. Remo Fernandes Always Stand With The Goans Against Illegal Mining And Against All Illegal Happenings In Goa. Remo Deserves To Be The CM of GOA.
