Mandrem puzzled over burglaries

Mandrem in Pernem taluka is becoming a hot target for thieves, even with thefts taking place twice within three months in the same house.

Manoranjan Singh, living at Dandoswado in Mandrem is completely frustrated as he lost Rs seven lakh with two thefts taking place in his house since December.

People are furious as Pernem police have completely failed in cracking even one case among 15 in last two months.

According to the locals, thieves are targeting locked houses and breaking into it.

Even local temples have not been spared by the thieves.

So far Siddhivinayak Temple of Naikwado, Ravalnath Temple of Askawado and Gangaldev Temple of Dandoswado have been burgled.

Earlier, the coastal belt crowded with foreigners was the major target, but thieves have now also breaking into interior Mandrem.

People are puzzled as multiple thefts are taking place at one night while the police have not been able to crack a single case.
