Dudu's sister stinged on Guddler

PTI, PANAJI | 09 January 2011 11:40 IST

A footage aired in a local TV channel purportedly showing a Goa police officer selling drugs to two foreigners was shot by an Israeli girl who conducted a "sting operation" after her brother was arrested for drug dealing.

Ayala Driham, sister of David Driham alias Dudu who was arrested by the police Sub-Inspector, Sunil Guddler, submitted a statement to Crime Branch giving details about the "sting", sources said.

The Crime Branch has already launched a probe after the clippings were showed on television.

In her statement, a copy of which was available with PTI, the girl said she along with her brother''s girlfriend did a sting on Guddler, heading Anti-Narcotic Cell, after she was contacted in Israel "by some persons who showed a keen interest in the police-drug nexus".

"They asked if I was ready to involve myself in a sting operation to test if drugs could be made available by the police," Ayala said adding, an entire team from Israel had come down to Goa to conduct the operation.

The tapes also purportedly show Guddler stating that his higher-ups are in the know about his activities and they too take bribes.

He purportedly said he had threatened landlord of Dudu to plant drugs on him and money will help get him out.

While the Crime Branch is yet to issue a formal comment after Ayala''s statement, Guddler said after his interrogation on January 6 that the tapes were doctored.

Meanwhile, the second girl in the operation, Dudu''s girlfriend Zarina, has been missing. Ayala in her statement has said that Zarina is not available at present.

I really cannot understand how one can blame Police inspector for accepting the bribes and selling drugs on behalf of his higher-ups. How will he make his quota along with the quota for his higher-ups? It is so said that one doesn’t know what is the market price to get a job in government. Every position has its market price (Price Tag) any one will tell how much is the cost to get a job from constable to DySP. If they have paid lakhs of rupees to get that job than he have to recover that money. How will he do? Even to get posting one have to give money to their higher-ups and have to collect certain money every day. This is the biggest fault of VOTERS as they have sold their VOTES for Rs. 500.00 or for few kilos of Rice or both.

See the shameful conditions to which the State of Goa has been reduced by the dirty nexus of the corrupt politicians and the law enforcing agencies- many of them actively involved in the criminal activities?
