Goa Congress today welcomed NCP chief Sharad Pawar's announcement to continue supporting Congress-led government in the state.
"Sharad Pawar has said his party is strongly with the government in Goa. We welcome the statement...This is a good sign of alliance partner. We respect it," GPCC president Subhash Shirodkar told PTI.The party, however, maintained silence on NCP leader Praful Patel's warning of "not to take the NCP support for granted in the state".
When asked about the warning, Pawar said, "His boss has assured the support. That's enough for us. I am a man who will think positive."
At a NCP convention held in South Goa on Sunday last, Patel had warned the Goa Congress not to take the party leaders for granted in the state. He had cautioned Congress against treating NCP legislators "like a child".
