MGP to join hands with RSS-led GSM to make Sudin the CM
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 26 December 2016 21:33 IST

Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party President Deepak Dhawalikar has confirmed it would join hands with BBSM-initiated Goa Suraksha Manch in the next Assembly election; not with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
“The BJP has asked to knock on their door, which they closed by expelling us. But we have decided not to even head towards their door”, said the expelled former minister.
According to him, the party has decided not to take any more insults from the BJP which has failed in providing proper leadership to the state under Laxmikant Parsekar, after Manohar Parrikar stepped down as the CM.
Parrikar had recently stated that though they have closed the door, the MGP could very well knock on the door and come in to talk about continuing the alliance.
“As they have failed in delivering to the people, they now want crutches of MGP to win the election. Why should we go with such people”, he asked.
The MGP, as expected, has decided to embrace the GSM, which is formed by RSS-led BBSM, to defeat their own party wing – the BJP.
But he is still not sure the nature of their understanding with the GSM.
“If not alliance, we will have seat-sharing with the GSM,” he said.
The MGP, he said, would definitely contest minimum 22 seats out which the party would win not less than 15 seats.
The Priol MLA also said their ultimate strategy would aim at making ‘our leader’ (Sudin Dhawalikar) the CM of Goa.
“The picture would be clear within 15 days of announcing the election, not right now”, he said.
