Probe into beach cleaning will expose Rohan, I’m clean: Parulekar

Tourism minister Dilip Parulekar has lauded Rohan Khaunte for showing courage in filing a complaint regarding the beach cleaning tender, which he said is a clean process and the probe would prove it.
Khaunte has filed a complaint before Lokayukta, alleging that Parulekar received kickbacks in the multi-crore beach cleaning scam.
Reacting to this, he said Khaunte’s allegations are baseless and acts of frustration, giving the issue a political overturn.
Because the Goan beaches are clean, the minister said Goa bagged several awards including TripAdvisor’s Best Beach Awards in Asia and India.
According to him, the beach cleaning tender was a most transparent matter scrutinised by various departments including Finance and Law.
The lowest bidder was selected to give professional services, the results of which are evident from the fact that the beaches of Goa are now cleaner and more beautiful, said Parulekar.
Welcoming the probe, he said the truth would finally come out now and Khaunte would ultimately be exposed.
