Goa 'officially' rejects Karnataka's out-of-court settlement proposal

Goa government has rejected Karnataka's proposal to have an out of the court settlement of Mahadayi river water dispute between the two states and said let the dispute be resolved through the Mahadayi Water Disputes Tribunal.
''Since the matter is pending before the Tribunal and the case is proceeding at a fast pace, it will not be appropriate to hold a dialogue on the issue to find out an amicable solution outside the purview of the Tribunal,'' Goa CM Laxmikant Parsekar categorically said in his letter to his Karnataka counterpart Siddaramaiah.
