Rest assured nothing is gonna happen to coconut trees as long as those trees provides coconuts. :p We goans need them coconut trees because its a part of our daily food habits as well as other secondary uses like ceremonies etc.. People who think that from tomorrow onwards there wont be any coconut tree left in Goa are just misinformed or plain paranoid. Since the inception of the Tree Protection Act, the coconut tree was never included as a forest tree but nothing ill happened to it. Nothing will happen now either. So Goans and all those shouting against this Govt's ammendment ... please take a chill pill and relax. You guys are needlessly wasting your energy.

Now love for coconut and the tree at the cost of govt. I appeal to coconut trees new lovers to show their real love by adopting at least one sapling (kavatho) and take care for it. Or at least see the pitiable conditions of the trees by walking through the plantation areas (bhat). Look at the roots which are much above ground level which is sign of starvation. People moving in autos get occasional glimpse of our goan nature. Today love for goa and nature is found only in press statement.
