Bandora villagers serve 7-day deadline to ban Sanatan

GOANEWS DESK, PONDA | 30 September 2015 14:40 IST

Villagers of Bandora have served a seven-day deadline to Goa government to ban Sanatan Sanstha, failing which they have threatened to start mass agitation.

Saurabh Lotlikar, president of Ramnath Yuvak Sangh, today claimed that he has support of majority people from Ponda for a demand to ban Sanatan Sanstha and shut down the Sanatan Ashram at Bandora.

At a press conference held at his residence, he was accompanied by his mother Sharmila, also a Bandora village panch and some elderly people from the village.

“We are also Hindus. We don’t need organisations like Sanatan to tell us what Hinduism is”, said Lotlikar.

He also alleged that Sanatan teaches ‘something else’ in the name of Hinduism, which the villagers are opposed to.

He also observed that precisely this is the reason not a single villager of Bandora is a Sanatan member while its headquarters situated in their village.

Lotlikar also recalled police finding records of Sanatan Ashram borrowing 1000 condoms from the local health centre in 2009, when they searched the Ashram following a bomb blast in Margao.

“What condoms have to do with spiritualism”, he asked.

The villagers have also appealed to all the political parties to support their demand of banning Sanatan Sanstha in Goa.

Lotlikar also said the villagers have come forward to voice out their protest against Sanatan since PWD minister Sudin Dhawalikar, the local MLA, is silent on the issue.

Once the deadline is over, he said the first rally would be held in Ponda city, which would be then spread throughout Goa.

Mr. Vinay, why are followers reportedly raped by the so called ''babas'' and 'swamis'' in their ashram? Is that being taught in temples? Stop and shut your mouth. Don't blame christians. You are not only communal, but utter disgust to human society. You have no place in goan society as hindus and christians have lived in harmony in goa for centuries.

Why are nuns sexually exploited in churches by padres. What about child abuse in churches. Is this taught in churches.

This rumour of condoms found or purchased by ashram is a big conspiracy by some evil minded communal people and foreign funded NGO, who have a common intention of destroying Hindu Culture, tradition and followers. Why Hindus are called terrorists when they preach HINDU ideology?. But when Christians padres speak against Indian languages or Muslims issues fatwa they are not called terrorists. Why such partial behaviour from media

One more drama by Saurabh Lotlikar, who is agent of One of the Congress heavyweight politician whose lost heavilyeveve Saurabh does not have support of even 10 members. He should first look his so called supporters who drive their vehicles in Ponda so rash causing fear in the mind of general public. So I don't feel he has any chance of banning Sanatan. He is actually a TERROR MAN of Bandora.
