Won't tolerate interference while dealing with crime against women: CM

Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar has said his government will not tolerate any kind of pressure while dealing with the cases of crime against women.
He made the sharp statement after paying tributes to Dr T B Cunha, at Azad Maidan in Panaji, on the occasion of the anniversary of the great freedom fighter and a journalist.
In the background of the media person facing charges of sexual harassment, he also said all are equal before the law, from chief minister to the sweeper and from editor to the peon.
“The authorities will punish the guilty but the innocent will not be penalised in an unjust manner”, he assured.
Parsekar also said that Goa is one of the safest state for women and it would continue to be so.
“Women will always feel secure in this state”, he said.
The chief minister also said the government will not tolerate any kind of interference in the police investigation.
He was also accompanied by PWD minister Sudin Dhawalikar, chief secretary R K Srivastav, Director General of Police T N Mohan and other officials.
