Challenge to Rahul as Parrikar adopts village, Smriti active in Amethi

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has adopted a village in Amethi.
Amethi is a Parliamentry constituency of Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, for Lok Sabha.
Parrikar is elected as a Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh, where Amethi belongs to, as a MP of the ruling Bhratiya Janata Party.
On behalf of the BJP, HRD minister Smriti Irani still works actively in Amethi, even afer losing last Lok Sabha election to Gandhi.
Parrikar was earlier the Goa chief minister, elected from the capital city of Panaji for five consecutive times, from 1994.
Even as the Goa chief minister, Parrikar had campaigned in Amethi during Lok Sabha election.
