Dipak supports wife on western culture causing rapes

PTI, PANAJI | 07 April 2015 19:48 IST

Coming out in support of his wife who stoked a controversy by stating that rapes are on the rise as women are aping western culture, Goa Factories Minister Deepak Dhavalikar today said the "way people dress today, fuels incidents of rape".

"When girls used to follow Hindu culture, there were no instances of rape. Now, people have changed the way they behave and dress and you have seen how the number of rapes are on the rise," Dhavalikar, told PTI today when asked for a reaction over his wife Lata's remarks.

Lata, a functionary of controversial right wing organisation Sanatan Sauns was addressing a convention in Margao on Sunday where she appealed to the parents not to enrol their children in missionary schools.

She had also said rapes are on rise as women are aping Western culture.

The minister said what his wife said was true, adding, "Are convent schools teaching about our culture? You meet the students from convent and judge yourself. They have no knowledge about our culture," he said.

Dhavalikar further said the platform where Lata was speaking, is to preach Hindu religious values and there is nothing wrong in speaking from the heart.

"Hindu religious institutions feel that Indian culture and dharma should be spread because Western culture has invaded our Indian culture. I also agree with what they say," he added.

Dhavalikar's elder brother Sudin Dhavalikar, who is also a senior minister in the state cabinet, had last year created a row over his demand to ban on bikinis on Goa beaches that attract lakhs for tourists, including foreigners.

Dhavalikar brothers know very well that all three constituencies they represent are predominantly Hindu dominated and minorities do not make any difference in winning prospects. Over the years they have managed to create their own pimps and beneficiaries among majority Gauda and Bhandari communities who are ready to slit throats of their own clan / community members for petty gains. This type of machinations are common in entire Goa but the Bahujan of Goa is like headless chicken after the demise of one generation which firmly stood behind Dayanand Bandodkar and defeated evil plans of Goa's Sarswat lobby that had controlled everything, owing to its proximity to Portuguese rulers. Now not only upper caste leaders but their own community leaders are using the bahujan samaj to usurp power and to become rich.

Dhavalikars are influenced by Sanatan Guru Atahavale who has promised Sudin to make him the CM of Goa by 2023, when Hindu Rashtra is formed.

Does he also know that wearing a bra and panties also goes against Hindu ethos as these are European inventions?

As per BJP, all Hindus should wear Indian style dress and follow Indian Culture. Agreed. So it must start from BJP itself. They should boycott Suit and Pant and start wearing Dhoti. Their children should boycott Jeans and T-shirts and start wearing Khaki Chaddi and Baniyan. They should boycott English language and start speaking Hindi. BJP should boycott all Western products such as Mobile, Computers, Cars, etc. BJP should boycott Western FDI.
