All roads lead to bikers’ fiesta in Goa

If you are a die-hard roadie and own a motorcycle that can do the miles, you shouldn’t be lounging around at home this weekend.
India Bike Week (IBW) 2015, one of the biggest congregations of motorcyclists and machines in the country, is all set to kickstart on Friday at Vagator in Goa.
Bikers from Chennai, including members of motorcycle clubs and riding groups, have fired their engines towards the northernmost part of the beach State, to be part of the two-day motorcycle extravaganza.
A group of 30 riders of the city’s own Harley owners group (HOG), Coromandel Harley, set off for Goa from Sriperumbudur, early on Wednesday.
“The ride remains the most awaited among HOG members. It is a fine opportunity for camaraderie as all Harley chapters come together at a single venue. Goa will be a double delight for riders as 2015 marks the fifth year of the American motorcycle brand’s advent in India,” Karthikeyan Srinivasan, director of Coromandel Harley, told The Hindu enroute Goa.
Triumph, the iconic British motorcycle, will also mark its presence at IBW 2015, with a bunch of Chennaiites cruising on their Bonnevilles and Street Triples towards Vagator via Karnataka.
Other groups of Chennai riders, determined to be a part of the big motorcycle bash, have also hit the highway.
“Having heard and read about the event, my friends and I decided to ride from Chennai to be a part of it. We hope to meet fellow bikers, check out their machines and also shop for some biker stuff from the stalls at IBW,” said Saravana Kumar from Choolaimedu who is now in Hubli en route Goa.
