Parrikar the DM to continue to travel in passenger flight

Defense minister Manohar Parrikar will travel in a passenger plane, utilizing rarely his privilege of special defense flight.
“Why should I use it regularly? I will use it only when it is needed like while visiting Tawang or Siachin and not on day-to-day basis”, he told the media persons today.
A defense minister of India needs a proper security cover and is thus provided with a special flight by the defense forces.
But Parrikar, who travelled in an economy class even when he was the Goa’s chief minister, arrived at the air port today in a passenger flight.
Known for his simple middle class lifestyle, Parrikar plans to continue it even after becoming the defense minister of the country.
