Why allow looters to mine again, asks AAP

Why is the Goa government allowing the same mine owners to extract iron ore instead of recovering the loot of around Rs 35,000 crore, asks the Aam Aadmi Party.

The AAP has sharply reacted on the Manohar Parrikar government’s stand of not challenging the high court order of allowing 27 mine owners to mine Goa’s iron ore.

The Bombay high court at Goa has recently passed an order, allowing 27 petitioners to extract iron ore on the basis that they have paid stamp duty for the mining leases.

Most of these mine owners have been named in the Shah Commission report while the Supreme Court has also nailed them for illegally extracting the iron ore.

“The very act of acceptance of stamp duty from the companies, while the matter was pending in the Supreme Court, is beyond comprehension. Instead the Government should have challenged the High Court Order”, said AAP press release.

“By accepting the High Court order and renewing the leases of those parties who have paid stamp duty, the state will earn a paltry 150 crores a year, whereas there is ample scope for the state to earn a whopping 3000 crore annually if it challenged the order of the High Court”, the press note further pointed out.

It has been two and half years since the inception of the new government but no efforts are visible to recover the amount looted from Illegal mining. Instead the government seems to be inclined to ensure that the very same companies which looted the state can carry on with work as usual, feels AAP.

The AAP also observed that the mineral deposits and the revenue earned from it belong to the people of Goa and the government is merely a trustee, who should ensure the best possible returns for the state exchequer and the people.

“The government in its own wisdom seem to be responding to compulsions other than those which are best for the people of Goa”, said AAP.

AAP should protest against restarting Mining. AAP should allow Mining to restart in 2 conditions. (1) After looted Mining amount is recovered and (2) Mining share to all Goans (irrespective of involved or not involved in the Mining sector).

India or the Hindu Rastra ( as per Dipak Davilikar) or Bharat for those where a name matters, has always been invaded by looters , plunders & rapists.

We had the Mughals, The British & The Portuguese.

So what has changed? ....Nothing.

We have the "New Age Looters & Plunderers" now in the form of greedy Miners and greedy Politicians.

The Mughals , British & Portuguese have left India with beautiful edifices i.e Taj Mahal, VT Station etc.

Today in Goa, the erstwhile regime of Mr Parrikar has left Goa with crumbling Kala Academy's, crumbling bridges, crumbling schools etc .

And what have the looting & plundering Miners left Goa.....well I will let you decide.

But to give you a hint...if you see huge, vast( mile upon mile or Km. upon Km) & massive holes in the ground dotted all over Goa...these were not caused by an earthquake or freak weather. !!

The AAP must know by now, that the BJP & Congress Party can only stay in power & exercise their rule, with criminals & thieves & their henchmen amongst them & in their midst.

Both Parties must have 50% of criminals in the Party & another 50 % with criminal intentions, that support them.

Is there anyone in Goa, that can stand up and with all honesty claim, that either Party is clean?
