Parrikar moots uniform mining lease policy for India

Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar today said the methodology for allotment of mining leases should be uniform across the country.
Talking to reporters here today, he said he would request the new government in the Centre to have a uniform policy in this regard.
"Methodology of allotting leases should be common across the country. It cannot be different for Goa," he said.
The recent Supreme Court order which lifted the ban on iron ore mining in Goa has put the onus to allot mining leases on the state government.
