The Aam Aadmi Party has called Narendra Modi a liar and Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar the protector of mine owners, who have looted Goa through illegal mining.
At a press conference held today, AAP’s Goa’s based national executive member Dinesh Waghela pounced upon both Modi as well as Parrikar for hoodwinking the people.
Modi, at the Vijay Sankalp Rally, had yesterday remarked that a leader like Parrikar should have been in Delhi to make the media and people know how he has developed the state as Goa’s chief minister.
“If Parrikar is so good, then Modi should have projected the Goa CM as the prime ministerial candidate, why Modi”, asked Waghela.
While making grand promises regarding mining, said Waghela, it is shocking that Modi did not bother to mention that a single mine owner has been arrested so far by Goa government in spite of the mining lobby looting Goa for Rs 35,000 crore.
“No action has been initiated against the mine owners either based on the Shah Commission report or the PAC report prepared by Parrikar himself as the opposition leader”, pointed out Dr Oscar Rebello, another AAP leader.
The AAP also alleged that the BJP is actually protecting the mine owners, especially Sesa Goa, who has retrenched 1100 workers, because the mining company is their major donor.
According to AAP leaders, Modi failed to address a single issue of the ten issues they had raised.
“His speech was nothing but a banquet of lies. He is a liar and a feku”, alleged Waghela.
Though Modi praises Parrikar as the saviour, in reality the Goa CM has not resolved a single major issue of Goa, be it be the Regional Plan, action against illegal miners or Special Status for Goa, which was promised during last Assembly election.
“Modi as well as Parrikar speak only about protecting culture and identity of Goa through Special Status when actually the prime issue is to protect Goa’s land, which is still being converted while the Regional Plan hangs in the air”, said Dr Rebello.
It also proves, said musician-turned politician Remo Fernandes, that there is no difference between the BJP and the Congress.
The AAP leaders also cautioned Goans to realise that these statements are nothing but false promises and carrots dangled before every election, while no action ever materializes after these parties come to power.
While Modi appeals for Congress-Mukt Bharat to end corruption and nepotism, Valmiki Naik, another AAP leader, said Modi’s own government in Gujarat is found guilty of the same ills to even worse degrees.
