Pawar restructures NCP, elevates Trajano
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 06 September 2013 22:53 IST

Nationalist Congress Party supremo Sharad Pawar has reorganised its Goa party unit by elevating its state spokesperson Trajano D’Mello as the vice president.
Jose Philip D’Souza, its vice president, has been elevated as a senior vice president.
While making former minister Carmo Pegado as a special invitee on the state executive committee, his son Brian has been promoted as the secretary.
Pawar has apparently started restructuring the state organisation, keeping in mind the forthcoming Lok Sabha election.
Though Congress tries to get the North Goa seat, Pawar manages to get this seat to contest, no matter the NCP loses it.
It helps the NCP to retain it as a national party, with its units in Maharashta, Gujarat and Goa.
The NCP, in last election, had to imprt Jitendra Deshprabhu from the Congress as its North Goa candidate, who surrpisingly lost hardly by 6000 votes against North Goa’s BJP MP Shripad Naik.
These results have raised NCP’s hope of winning the seat, provided the party builds its organisation and takes active support of the Congress.
