CM behind tiatrist arrest: NCP
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 12 August 2013 18:13 IST

The National Congress Party has accused chief minister Manohar Parrikar of being behind the arrest of tiatrist Francis de Tuem.
According to Goa NCP’s chief spokesperson Trajano D’Mello, the CM has hit two birds in one stone.
Francis, in tiatr, has always been bitterer critic of Parrikar than of Mickky, observed D’Mello.
However, he feels the chief minister took advantage of situation and arrested Francis so that Nuvem MLA Mickky Pacheco could be shown in bad light.
Based on Mickky’s complaint of extortion and defamation, Francis was arrested last week and later released.
The tiatrist had accused Mickky at personal level, referring something to his children.
D’Mello however admitted that freedom of speech and expression should not cross the Laxman
Rekha of decency.
But the NCP spokesperson felt that the chief minister should stop such intimidating tactics against those who criticise the functionin of the government.
He also wondered why Parrikar is silent on the issue of his party suppoting dance bars in the state.
“His silence is a clear indication that the statement is made at the behest of the chief minister”, alleged D’Mello.
