After winning trophies in the past for its quality trade, exports and advertisements, Vicco Laboratories, manufacturing Ayurvedic products like toothpaste, tooth powder and turmeric skin cream, has won the national award for its factory construction in Goa.
The Maharashtra chapter of US-based American Concrete Institute has awarded the Most Outstanding Concrete Structure Award, 1997 to Vicco's Corlim factory in North Goa, built on a hill slope, fighting with the natural hurdles.
Vicco products are getting popular in advanced countries of Europe, USA and Australia, says Pendharkar, most of which are foreign customers, who are shifting towards Ayurvedic products. The exports are over 10 per cent while they are now planning to take up a wide publicity campaign throughout the advanced world.
Interestingly, says the CMD, Vicco's tooth powder is also getting popular among the foreigners, who are getting habituated to massage their teeth with fingers, instead of using the toothbrush.
