Modi finally meets Advani

Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi met the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) patriarch L.K. Advani today morning.

It’s his first interaction since being anointed the party’s poll campaign committee chief that led to the split in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

Modi drove to Advani’s residence for the meeting which comes days after Advani showed his displeasure at being sidelined at the Goa conclave by resigning from three key BJP posts.

Advani, however, later withdrew his resignation following a telephonic talk with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and persuasion by the BJP leaders.

Modi is in Delhi primarily to meet Planning Commission deputy chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia and finalize the state’s annual plan.
